Fundraise for Us

Why Support SARA?

Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) protects life and property through the provision of a professionally trained, specialist rescue service for water and land search incidents. As volunteers, we support the full-time emergency services with our specialist skills and are regularly called upon by the Police, Fire and Ambulance services.

SARA is a registered charity (505504); every single member of our team is a committed volunteer who gives up their precious free time to provide our rescue services 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. It is thanks to the generous donations from our supportive public that we can purchase, maintain and run our specialist rescue equipment such as our Land Rover fleet, ropes, boat fleet and personal protective equipment.

It costs approximately £30,000 a year just to keep each of our stations running, and this is before we look at replacing any of the current equipment that we have or acquiring additional life saving equipment. It is important to note that none of our volunteers claim any kind of financial reward or expenses for their time so you can rest assured that 100% of your donations go directly to keeping our charity running.

Ways to support SARA

There are many ways to support SARA: by fundraising for us; donating directly to us; shopping online or by giving some spare time to help out on our station. Here are just a few options but please do get in touch if you have any ideas we can support you with.

from all at SARA Wyre Forest

As well as the day-to-day running costs associated with providing a search and rescue service, we have a number of funding projects. The funds received for a particular project can only be used for that project and are known as ring-fenced funding.
