Thursday 21st November 2019     9:00am

Wyre Forest were placed on immediate standby for flooding incidents by HWFRS for 23 hours.

Wednesday 13th November 2019     4:58pm

Wyre Forest were requested to support a missing person search in Celtenham.
SARA Wyre Forest were ready to assist Tewskbury station but were stood down before deplyment as misper was found safe and well. 

Sunday 27th October 2019     11:37am

Wyre Forest and Sharpness boat and SRT crew provided flooding support in Hereford.
SARA Wyre Forest provided flooding support including local community awareness ahead of rising flood waters. Crews were stood down at 11:00pm. 

Saturday 26th October 2019     3:10pm

Wyre Forest crew were requested by Warwickshire Police to undertake a recovery.
SARA Wyre Forest were able to complete the recovery from a weir adjacent to Warwick Castle. Crews were stood down at 11:15pm. 

Wednesday 23rd October 2019     7:12pm

Land search crews were requested by Tewksbury station to support in missing person search.
SARA Wyre Forest were requested to undertake a search in Winchcombe supporting Gloucestershire Police for a high risk missing person. The crew were initially stood down but the misper was located during a continuation of the search the following day.

Saturday 12th October 2019     5:16pm

Land search crews were requested by Tewksbury station to support in missing person search.
The request came from Gloucestershire Constabulary to assist a injured male walker with leg injury in Redbrook, Wye Valley. Wyre Forest, Tewksbury and Beachley Land teams deployed. Once the walker had been located, the team exricated over steep ground supported by the SARA rope team.

Working with the Gloucestershire fire and rescue service and SWAST paramedics, in the dark, he was carried down to the road on one of our Mountain Rescue stretchers, carefully back-roping it down the slope so that it was always secure. There he was transferred directly to a waiting ambulance for medical care.

Wednesday 2nd October 2019     3:35pm

Land search crews were requested by Tewksbury station to support in missing person search.
SARA Wyre Forest were requested to search a flooded nature reserve for Gloucestershire Police for a high risk missing person, however, the crew were stood down before leaving Wyre Forest as the missing person was located safe and well.

Monday 30th September 2019     3:15pm

Boat crews were requested by HWFRS to standby for flood cover.
SARA Wyre Forest were on standby for flooding support the HWFRS, no deployment was necessary as the river levels remained below flood conditions. Crew stood down 3pm on Tuesday 1st October. 

Saturday 28th September 2019     5:37pm

Land search crews were requested by Glouscestershire Police for a missing person search.
SARA  Wyre Forest crew responded along side Tewksbury, Sharpness and Beachley to search for a high risk missing person in Painswick/Stroud. The crew were stood down just before leaving station as the missing person was located.

Thursday 5th September 2019     9:59am

Land search crews were deployed for a second day to support Tewksbury crew searching for a missing person.
SARA  Wyre Forest crew responded for the second day to support our sister station searching for a high risk missing person in Cheltenham. The crew were stood down at 7pm and returned to station.

Wednesday 4th September 2019     2:48pm

Land search crews were deployed to support Tewksbury crew searching for a missing person.
SARA  Wyre Forest crew responded to support our sister station for a high risk missing person in Cheltenham. The crew were stood down at 11pm and returned to station.

Saturday 24th August 2019     9:00am

Boat crews were put on standby by HWFRS to provide additional water cover over the Bank Holiday weekend.
SARA were put on standby by the fire service in the event of a water incident as the fire crews had a restricted response availability. Wyre Forest had crew ready for immediate deployment but were later stood down at 6:00pm on Monday evening, once the fire crews had returned to their normal on-call status. 

Monday 19th August 2019     6:41pm

Boat crews were put on standby by HWFRS to provide cover whilst their boat teams were unavailable.
SARA were put on standby by the fire service in the event of a water incident as the fire crews had a restricted response availability. Wyre Forest had crew ready for immediate deployment but were later stood down at 10:19am on Tuesday morning, once the fire crews had returned to their normal on-call status. 

Friday 16th August 2019     7:38pm

Crew were called for an immediate call out for a missing person in the Forest of Dean.
Crew from Wyre Forest attended the call out in support of Tewksbury station for a search which lasted 2 days. SARA teams were initially paged at 19:03 on Friday the 16th August to assist in the search for a misper who had been missing for several days from Bream near Lydney. Crews, alongside colleagues from Gloucestershire cave rescue group assembled and set out searching in appalling weather until the early hours of Saturday Morning when the search was suspended for the night.

The following morning (Saturday 17th) the teams reassembled with more colleagues from Gloucestershire cave rescue group, Midland Cave Rescue and SARDA South Wales (some after only a few hours sleep) and recommenced the search. At 14.05, a team from SARA located the missing lady in undergrowth.

Mountain Rescue Casualty carers from SARA attended to the casualty, completing a primary survey of her health, giving appropriate treatment and packaging her for evacuation, and transporting her to an Ambulance in Tewkesbury's Mobile 11, our Stretcher carrying Landrover 110. She is now receiving medical care and we wish her a speedy recovery and send her our best wishes.

We train hard for situations like this and it really goes to show that all the training and teamwork pays off!

Land search crews were alerted for a search in Dursley, Gloucestershire.
SARA land crews were alerted to conduct a land search in support of Tewksbury station, however the crews were stood down before leaving the station. 

Thursday 25th July 2019     1:12pm

Boat crews were put on standby by HWFRS to provide cover during an ongoing incident.
SARA were put on standby by the fire service in the event of a water incident as the fire crews were committed to an incident in Upton. Wyre Forest had crew ready for immediate deployment but were later stood down at 4:51pm once the fire crews had returned to their normal on-call status.

Land search crews called out for a missing person search in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.
SARA Tewskbury requested that WF crew deploy to Gloucestershire to support with an ongoing missing person search. The Wyre Forest crew were stood down before deployment as the missing person was located by police.

Land search crews called out for a missing person search in Ampney St Peter, Gloucestershire.
SARA Tewskbury called WF to assist in a high risk missing person search, after a long and intensive period searching wooded areas the WF crew were stood down at 1:00am on the 13th July.

Boat crews called out for a water search in Dunley, Stourport.
The request came from West Midlands Ambulance Service to assist in a water search located in a disused quarry near Stourport, after intensive searching the WF crew were stood down at 12:15am on the 8th July.

Alerted for a call out to search for a vulnerable missing person in Northfield, Birmingham.
The request came from West Midlands Police to assist for a missing person search, however crew were stood down before deployment as police located the missing person. This called followed a morning call out in Gloucestershire and an event in Pedmore held throughout the day.

Call out for an elderly missing person search in Gloucestershire.

SARA Wyre Forest was called out to support SARA Tewkesbury on behalf of Gloucestershire Constabulary. The vulnerable missing person was successfully located by a SARA Land team, and was provided professional medical aid by specialist SARA Casualty Care Crew with subsequent hand over to South West Ambulance Service.
Crews were stood down shortly after 11:30am and returned to a school fayre event in Pedmore, Stourbridge.

Thursday 27th June 2019     3:54pm

Call out for a missing person search in Dursley, Gloucestershire.
SARA Wyre Forest was called out to support our colleagues from our sister stations, SARA Tewkesbury and Beachley, were joined by volunteers from Gloucestershire and Midlands Cave Rescue Group and Gloucestershire Police. The person was found outside of our designated areas by the police who then called us in to assess the casualty and aid in their extraction. We would like to thank Gloucestershire fire and rescue service and the British Red Cross for their welfare provision, and all the volunteers who turned out to assist in the search.
Crews were stood down shortly after 11:00pm to return to base to ready the equipment for the next call-out.

Monday 17th June 2019     10:45am

Swan rescue in Bewdley.
Crew were tasked by HWFRS to assist with a distressed swan, in the vicinity of Beales Corner, Bewdley. Crew were stood down on route as Wychbold Swan Rescue were able to capture the swan without the need for a boat. 

Saturday 15th June 2019     8:00am

Missing Person search in Dudley.
This was a pre-arranged tasking from West Midlands Police to assist with an ongoing missing person investigation. WF crew, along with Tewksbury, WMSAR and BIRD assisted Police with searching a 25 acre site. The teams were stood down at 5:30pm by police once the main areas of interest were completed.

Monday 3rd June 2019     11:03am

Missing Person search in Slimbridge, Gloucestershire.
At 11:03am SARA Wyre Forest were called out to assist Gloucestershire Constabulary in a search for a missing elderly male near Slimbridge. Land and Swift Water Rescue teams responded in support of our our sister teams down stream. SARA - Tewkesbury, SARA - Beachley and SARA - Sharpness Lifeboat Station.

As teams started their search areas the Police Helicopter located the missing person. SARA’s MREW Casualty Carers were sent to assess and attend to the elderly man. The casualty was evacuated by stretcher before being transferred to a SARA Land Rover, before handover to an Ambulance crew from SWAST. Through the combined efforts of all involved this elderly gentleman was reunited with his family. Well done to all involved in this multiagency response. Crews were stood down at 3:07pm, returning equipment to station, ready for the next callout.

Missing Person search in Worcester.
Wyre Forest crew were tasked directly by West Mercia Police to assist with search for a high risk vulnerable misper in the Worcester area. Following a briefing with West Mercia Police Wyre Forest Land and Water crew, supported by crew from our sister station, Severn Area Rescue Association - Tewkesbury, deployed to the RV Point to commence the search planning and team deployment. During this time, the missing person was seen by camera operators and the police quickly located them.Crews were stood down at 23:30 before returning back to their respective stations to prepare the vehicles and kit for the next call-out.

Missing Person search in Cirencester.
Wyre Forest crew were called out to support the SARA Tewskbury crew to conduct a land search in Cirencester for a missing person. Crew were stood down and returned to Wyre Forest at 12:20am as they arrived on scene due to the misper being successfully found.

Wyre Forest crew were called out along side our Tewskbury crew to conduct a land search in the Malvern Area. Crew were stood down at 6:45am.

Swan rescue in Worcester.
Hereford and Worcester Fire Service requested SARA WF to assist with a swan rescue at Diglis Dock Road, Worcester due to the difficult access to recover the swan. Crew were stood down on route as Swan rescue volunteers were able to recover the Swan without need for a boat.

Requested for a missing Person search in Tewksbury.
Call out for a missing person in Tewkesbury. WF crew worked collaboratively with SARA Tewkesbury, Beachley & Sharpness Stations. All crews bar Tewkesbury were stood down prior to arrival due to misper being located.

Requested for a missing Person search in Kidderminster.
WMSAR requested assistnace for a missing person search in Kidderminster. Misper was succesfully located in Stourport and crew stood down at 10:00pm. 

Saturday 9th March 2019     10:18pm

Requested for a missing Person search in Gloucestershire.
Wyre Forest crew were put on standby by our Tewksbury station for a land search. Crew were stood down before deployment from Wyre Forest Station at 10:31pm.

Missing Person search in Leominster.
Wyre Forest crew were tasked by West Mercia Police to seach for a missing person in Leominster, we worked along side our Tewskbury crew, Longtown Mountain Rescue Team and WMSAR to conduct a land search. Crew were stood down at 6:35pm.

Missing Person search in Malvern area.
Wyre Forest crew were called out along side our Tewskbury crew to conduct a land search in the Malvern Area. Crew were stood down at 5:45am for R&R before being redeployed later in the morning, however, the misper was located before redeployment.

Sunday 17th February 2019      9:00am

Call out to undertake a water search at Stourport
Severn Area Rescue Association - Wyre Forest Station were requested by fellow Lowland search team, WMSAR to assist in a water and bank search for a missing person. The search took place from Stourport to with 2 boats (1 WMSAR) making passage to Bevere Lock and searching on return. Land search teams were also deployed. Crew were stood down at 6:00pm.
