FAQ's

This page is regularly updated
Key an eye out for regular updates in the future or ask your own question on our Facebook page or the contact us page.

How much of my donation goes directly to your charity?
Every single member of SARA is a volunteer freely giving their time to train, fundraise and be on call. None of our members claim any form of financial expenses or payments therefore 100% of all donations go towards keeping our rescue organisation running.

At SARA Wyre Forest we have an open doors policy where donors can come and visit us and see how your donations help us to save lives.

Do you just do water rescue?
Here at SARA Wyre Forest we have a number of main disciplines where we offer our specialist skills to the regular emergency services, for example:
Land Search and Rescue
Water Search and Rescue
Swiftwater Rescue

As part of Mountain Rescue England & Wales we undertake rescues in a wide variety of hazardous environments and can also be called upon to assist other volunteer rescue teams across the UK.

How do I join the team?
We have two types of membership on the team:
Operational
Supporter

Operational members are highly committed, will train regularly and be on call to assist emergency call outs at any time of day or night. Supporters have no minimum commitment but help out when they can by fundraising, admin assistance or helping out with station maintinance. For more information please click HERE.
