On 22nd September 2018 a team of dedicated crew members from SARA Wyre Forest Rescue Station will be taking on a 10km extreme obstacle race (https://xrunner.co.uk) to help raise much needed funds for our charity.
The crew are busy preparing for the 6 mile grueling, muddy obstacle course around their existing training and operational commitments. If you would like to show your support and help keep our rescue station operational please donate securely via out JustGiving link HERE. 100% of donations go towards keeping our organisation running as every single member is a volunteer. Wow!
We have been overwhelmed by your response to our Operational recruitment morning on Saturday 28th April. Due to high demand, we have now closed this session. We will be contacting all candidates who have expressed an interest in the next 24 hours. This note refers only to operational roles, we are still actively recruiting for Supporters of SARA (SOS), so please get in touch (HERE) with us if you have some spare time to help us fundraise and run events. Thank you to everyone that has responded and please keep an eye on our page for any future operational recruitment activity On Friday 30th March, Ultimate Outdoors Merry Hill opened its doors to the crew of SARA Wyre Forest, allowing them to hold a collection to help with their much needed fundraising. On display were our hi-tech Incident Support Unit and SARA 26, the newest boat to our rescue fleet. Members of the public were able to meet the crew, ask questions and children were able to sit in our rescue boat whilst wearing some our our safety gear.
If you missed out this time we will be at Ultimate Outdoors Merry Hill again on Saturday 5th May, 10am - 3pm. Subject to operational commitments. If you would like to support our essential work please contact us to see how you can help. Thank you Ultimate Outdoors! Today I headed over to MAK Services 2007 Ltd of Kidderminster to pick up a donation for the SARA Wyre Forest team.
The staff at the company on Foley Park have been raising money for local charities for a long time, and SARA was the recipient of their most recent fundraising drive. Staff raised money by donning fancy dress whilst in the office, they raised £210.00 for our team. The funds will be used to ensure the we can continue to respond to local and national emergencies. A big thank you to all the team at MAK Services for your support!!! |
