We are currently looking to recruit new operational crew and Supporters of SARA (SOS).
All we ask is for you live local to Kidderminster or in a neighboring area. No previous experience or qualifications are needed to join SARA, as all training is provided. Our membership is made up of individuals of all ages and from a huge variety of different professions and backgrounds. It is important to note that SARA is more than a spare time hobby as we are a group of unpaid professionals, but there a few spare time activities that can be as exhilarating and rewarding as Search & Rescue. All crew are expected to partake in fundraising activities, regardless of role. We are having an information day on Saturday 28th April at 9:00am. To book your place, please contact us ASAP by clicking HERE. In March 2016 Severn Area Rescue Association - Wyre Forest Station tragically lost a friend and colleague in a traffic collision. Stuart Frost (callsign W26) was a popular and dedicated volunteer crew member in our rescue family. Stuart will always be remembered. To keep his memory alive, we recently undertook a training exercise on the rescue boat SARA 26 ‘Stuart Frost’, so named in his memory. We observed a minute’s silence and reflection followed by a blue light run. You will always be missed Stuart, but never forgotten. |
